Tis the Season:Grapevine Texas

We decided to take a tour of Grapevine, Texas. It is known as Texas Christmas capitol. It honestly reminded me of Whoville from The Grinch. Every store was exploding with Christmas decor. First, we went and visited the Visitor’s Center and got a map of the town. Grapevine is well known for its wine, so as we strolled through the town and stopped in and sampled different flights of wine at the different wine tasting rooms. My absolute favorite was from Messina Hof Winery. I am not a huge wine drinker and honestly never found one I loved. I loved their sparkling almond wine. This particular wine tastes exactly like wedding cake. Pass me all the residual sugar. I love anything sweet. I noticed I am a dessert wine drinker. I cannot handle anything dry. Sam, on the other hand, loves dry wines. Later in the evening, we made a stop in Sloan and Williams winery. If you ever stop in, you must get their charcuterie board while you sample wines. The board is huge and feels like it can feed a small family! Grapevine has cute boutiques lining the street selling various items ranging from home decor to clothing to antiques. They even a farmer’s market. Definitely stop into Grapevine’s farmers market. I love to look and how they sell spices from different areas. We always grill or bake its always a good way to add a little culture to our plate. At night, Christmas lights are all lit up and it is oh so cute, especially if you love to look at all the Christmas lights. They have small areas where you can take pictures and even a cute mistletoe booth. Another thing Grapevine does each year is the North Pole Express Christmas wine train. Apparently you depart from Grapevine depot and take a small excursion and arrive back at same location. The ride includes dinner served aboard with a few wine tasting. I adored this idea, but it sold out for this year. CRAZY! We definitely are planning to buy tickets early next year. Grapevine also uses the North Pole Express as a quick train ride if you have kids. It is such a sweet idea for family time! Outfit Deets: Dress is from Gianni Bini from Dillards! Faux fur coat is from Target sized up because I love the look of larger fur coats!
