City Park | New Orleans Sam and I decided to take a spontaneous date to New Orleans! It was pouring down rain when we left and I had my fingers crossed that it would not rain. Hair and makeup done, cute outfit on, and rain needed to hold off ha. We took our chances and went out to see New Orleans City Park the park is HUGE! So much we weren’t able to see all in one trip even two. We visited the botanical gardens, which the grounds were amazing and well cared for someone has a green thumb. From lily ponds, rose gardens, bamboo sanctuary, even down to a greenhouse full of succulents and cacti. I really wanted to visit since this was my first time actually going to City Park in New Orleans! I’ve heard amazing things and wanted to go! Sometimes I love being a tourist in my own city! Plus, this year I am definitely taking time out of my crazy schedule to go see the lights in City Park around Christmas time everyone tells me it’s beautiful. Things we missed in the park but definitely plan to do in the future are New Orleans Museum of Art located in City Park, vintage street bicycles for rent definitely something we wanted to do as the weather got cooler, and ride the train all around the park!
We then stopped at Neyow’s Creole Cafe six minutes from the park for a late dinner I’m linking it here. Thanks to the people who work at City Park and pointed us in the right direction when it comes to good New Orleans food. We had a 45 minute wait since this is the normal for them! The line was out of the building! However, the food was well worth the wait! We got the seafood platter and split it between us two! We also got a large bowl of gumbo, which I am currently obsessing over dark roux and loved the dish! Plus, we happened to notice on everyone’s table this deep red drink with an orange peel in it! We quickly ordered it called the Bowwow and it was an alcoholic beverage reminding me of a hurricane delicious! Also, loved the enclosed glass oyster grill where you can see the chef chargrill your oysters!
Outfit Deets: I am obsessing over denim skirts from the summer and now into the fall season super versatile. I can pair it with a cute t-shirt or a blouse dress it up or down so great for any occasion. This blouse sold out and linked some below the first ASOS one I am obsessed with I might order it ha! Also I am on the look out for new shades of lip colors tell me your favorite! Currently wearing Kat Von D in Lolita in these pictures!
